BANDWAGON: art meme
Stolen from all the swanky art kids on my f-list X)

1. Do I have a distinct style of drawing?
2. If so, what exactly is it that defines my "style"?
3. Would you say my art usually follows a 'theme'?
4. Is there anything I really need to improve on or change?
5. Does my style (if I have one) remind you of/look like the style of anyone else?
6. Judging from whatever art of mine that you've seen, what do you think I do the best at?
7. What do you think I suck am not good at? (Edited so the question doesn't scare away folks that're too polite to say I suck 8D;)

I AM ALWAYS SO DAMN TIRED AND OVER-CAFFEINATED AND IRRITABLE. I'M GOING TO TAKE A NAP.

1. Yes, at least I think so.
2. It's sketchy, but still clean. Rather angular, and with a healthy dose of realism, but 2-D-ified. Did that even make sense?
3. ...not sure what that means. But..male? XD;
4. Well, I'm not sure I remember any girls you've drawn, but maybe softening up the features for some gentler characters?
5. It looks shounen. But traditional shounen as opposed to DGM or Reborb or something.
6. ANGLES, PERSPECTIVES, AND LIGHTING. I'm always really really impressed by the variety of interesting poses and views you take =DDD
7. Uh..nothing I can think of, actually.

1. Very distinct!
2. While not totally realistic, you adopt a more realistic approach to facial structure. That makes your characters very dynamic visually. (plus, this helps you elude the 'everyone looks the same' pitfall)
3. I can't really say.
4. Your coloring's improved drastically, imo.
5. Not really.
6. Your anatomy and poses are great, and you have a good grasp on a diversity of facial expressions and structures.
7. 'Suck' is too strong, but if you continue improving your coloring, that'd be awesome.

1. Yes.
2. Emphasis on lines and a very distinct method of coloring/shading that I can only describe as OpenCanvas-esque.
3. No.
4. No.
5. No.
6. Conveying movement and action.
7. Finding time to sleep. Seriously.

1. VERY.
2. Angles, incredible sense of movement. Looking like it came straight from a character design sheet.
3. Cute skinny guys and Uncanny Gijinka representations.
4. You need to feed your characters a cookie! Seriously, they're so skinny. XD
5. I think I mentioned this somewhere before, but yes. Shukou Murase. It's the way you do noses, I think...
6. Capturing expressions, Gijinka-izing things. X3
7. Uh...you're not good at pushing out artwork every thirty seconds? Because you have a life? :)

Just a disclaimer that you know me, and that I obviously do have certain personal preferences [though I genuinely think the things I say down there] and don't force yourself to do anything you don't feel good about doing - but I'm sure you're smart enough to know that. :D

1. Do I have a distinct style of drawing?
Yup.

2. If so, what exactly is it that defines my "style"?
Faces and angular proportions.

3. Would you say my art usually follows a 'theme'?
Boys and fanart. Stylistically-wise, other than the anime influence, not really.

4. Is there anything I really need to improve on or change?
This is the bit where you regret me replying this. XD
a. Cleaniness. The sketchiness might be part of the style you want to cultivate, I don't know - but whether you mean it to or not, it sometimes look like you're not paying attention/don't really care to clean it up. With your angular bodies and strong facial features, I think it might be more complimentary if you clean up the lines more. Similarly with your colouring - well, it's a personal preference for sure, but colour out of lines that don't look purposeful enough or smudges from erasing kind of drive me crazy. XD;;;
b. Your colouring still, which *has* greatly improved since the last time I made you hate me. TAT I'm really glad that your contrast has improved and you've dared to put down darker colours, but I feel like you need even more shading and more precision in your colouring because of what I said earlier - your angular bodies and strong facial features. You're an art student, and I'm *sure* you know more than I do re: shadows and highlights, so put that to use, and make your shadows and highlights more distinct and precise. While I know that the Painter[/OC]-style is popular, part of it's popularity is that it's easy to produce something that looks decent without very much effort - and occasionally it looks like you're depending on that. More precision and discerning shading will help to differenciate and I think, accentuate your style.
c. Facial integration. But this one I told you about recently, and you've been improving, so keep going. :D

5. Does my style (if I have one) remind you of/look like the style of anyone else?
Nope.

6. Judging from whatever art of mine that you've seen, what do you think I do the best at?
Full-body poses, the expressions are a close second. I've gushed about these enough for you to know I like them.

7. What do you think I ...am not good at?
Pretty much answered in 4, and I'll add picking up girls. ;D
